Rosemary Gemmell

Writer and Author

Scottish Author Rosemary Gemmell

Welcome to my website! Have a browse around and hopefully return for another visit.

I have always lived in Scotland which inspires my creativity, from the beautiful west coast where I was born and bred to the central and more easterly areas where I'm discovering many interesting new venues.

Some of my books were previously published by Champagne Books in Canada, MuseItUp Publishing in Canada, Tirgearr Publishing in Ireland and Crooked Cat Books in the UK (now France). The rights have now reverted to me, allowing me to republish them myself.

I'm a member of the Society of Authors, the Romantic Novelists' Society and the Scottish Association of Writers. I'm an experienced adjudicator and I love to share information with other writers.

My new sweet romantic novella, Venetian Interlude, is now available in e-book and print from Amazon UK and Amazon US and worldwide.

Venice is one of my favourite places and I very much enjoyed using it a setting for a story!

I was pleased to see my article on the short story The Yellow Wallpaper published on the University of Chichester Thresholds site where it's available to read!

One of my poems, Where Kelpies Sing, was published in the Wild Musette Journal. One of my sonnets, Portrait of a Girl was recently published in the People's Friend Magazine.

Being a Writer

After being a published short story and article writer, I moved on to novels. I now write historical and contemporary romance and tween fiction as well as occasional short stories, articles, children's stories and poetry.

I've been a student nurse, a business travel consultant, a business/education liaison administrator and a direct banking advisor. Then I became a mature student with the Open University and gained a BA Hons in European Literature and History, followed by a post-graduate MA in Humanities (literature and history).

Now I love being a writer; it's finally who I am.

You can contact me here.  For regular information on books and writing see my separate blog.
